My thought had been to organize the condo association's calendar around the usual meeting day of the Board of Director - the third Tuesday of the month. But life and holiday schedules get in the way. The meetings for October, November, December have to be changed in order to accommodate one case the general manager's travel schedule and in the other the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. In addition to the schedule change snafu, one of the Board members resigned after the last meeting. The remaining Board members are left with the unenviable task of appointing someone to fill the seat until the next annual meeting, scheduled for April. An announcement went out asking qualified unit owners to send a letter of interest to the General Manager and the Board would consider the applicants at the October meeting. There are several candidates that are interested. We will see about about a new Board member in November.
Routines make life easier in a way. As my Ex used to say "either we are in a groove or a rut". I prefer to think of setting aside the third Tuesday of the month as the day the Imperial House Board hosts events as getting into a groove. Events such as Board meetings, community forums and social events like the annual holiday party. August is usually the month the Board does not meet. This year, on the third Tuesday we will have an "End of the Summer/Back to School" gathering on the roof deck.
